Hey Jets Fans,
First of all, a big CONGRATULATIONS must go out to our Jets for being in first place in the AFC East. Way to go Gang Green. Let’s keep up the good work this week against the Rams.
The last few weeks watching our Jets at the Palms has ushered in a new era for the fan club. A true place to call home for every Jets Fans throught the Tampa Bay area. Each week we see more and more new faces as well as plenty of the “regulars” who are there most every week.
This week, I’d really like to see 100+ fans this week against the Rams at 1:00pm. Not only will it be for place on top of the division but it’s also my birthday and I can’t think of a better way to spend it than with all of you!
Here’s the weekly (or so) newsletter….
In this issue:
- Jets vs Rams
- Jets vs Pats Game this Thursday Night – 11/13/08
- 50/50 Raffle
- Latest Photo’s from Week 8 & 9

- 2009 New York Jets vs Tampa Bay Bucs Game
Jets vs Rams
With the Bills going up against New England this week, the Rams game becomes an even bigger one to win.
We’ve got to go into Sunday’s game strong and ready to do some damage if we plan to stay on top of the AFC East. Personally, I’d like to see Buffalo take out New England since we’ve already beaten the Bills once this year.
Regardless, I encourage you to come out to P’s tomorrow and cheer on our Jets.
Loud & Proud with Green in’da house!
Thursday Night Game – 11/13/08 – New York Jets vs New England Patriots
I hope you don’t have other plans for this Thursday nights (11/13/08) Jets / Patriots game. I’ve already spoken to management about the game and they said the Palms is all ours for this big division rival game.
So no excuses… I want to see everyone at Peabody’s/Palms on Thursday NIght to root our Jets on. It will be a big game against a huge rival and a win against the Pats is always sweet!
See you then!
50/50 Raffle
The 50/50 Raffle has been a big success and has given us three winners so far. It’s also helped us raise about $175 for the club. I’ve already used some of that money to register a ficticious name for the Fan club with with the state of Florida. We are officially listed with the State as the New York Jets Fan Club of Tampa Bay.
The average haul has been around $60 per week for the winner along with a Jets DVD. Winning the raffle easily pays for your Sunday out but you gotta be in it to win it.
Winners to Date
Week 9 – “Uncle” Jonny Ogio
Week 8 – Bernie Rogan
Week 7 – New Guy from Press Box (sorry I forgot his name – maybe someone could send it to me.)
Be sure to be on the lookout for whoever is selling tickets or just ask me where you can get yours. Here’s the breakdown.
1 Ticket for $1
5 Tickets for $3
10 Tickets for $5
25 Tickets for $10
Latest Photo’s from Week 8 & 9
Just a quick note to tell you that the pics from weeks 8 and 9 are available on the fan club site. Sorry it took me a while to get the Week 8 pics up.. I was giving my training class that week and had ZERO time for it.
We’re putting up between 60 – 100 pics each week so I’ve had to split the slideshows up into two. I actually think that’s better anyway because you can watch both slide shows at the same time.
Anyway.. I hope you guys all like the pics I put up. A big thanks to Jim “Mangold” Stubblefield for all the photo’s he sends me each week as well. Enjoy.
You Tube Videos
Just a reminder that I’ve been uploading videos I’ve taken this year onto the Fan Clubs YouTube channel. You can check them out here:

New York Jets vs. Tampa Bay Bucs (Sometime in 2009)
Now I know this is a bit premature but, I want to breifly discuss next years Jets – Bucs game that will be taking place here in Tampa. I want to make this be the big event for us next year.
Now we don’t exactly have a date for this thing yet but I do want to start planning ideas and such. If anyone has ANY IDEAS or has any contacts that we can use to make more progress, please forward those names on to me. We’ve got to start this thing early and I want to start planting seeds for next year now.
Here are some ideas I’ve had so far:
- I want to plan a huge (and I mean huge) tailgate party at Ray-Jay Stadium for the game. Hopefully we can even get some sponsors.
- I’m also planning to see if we can get the Jets organization to do something with us or for us.
- I’ve been contacted by another fan club on the East Coast who will be making a road trip here to us to join us for the game.
- I plan to invite other fan clubs and groups of fans from up and down the east coast to join us for the tailgate.
- I’ve already reached out to group sales at the Bucs to see about tickets.
- One club member knows a Radio DJ who’s a big Jets fan that might be able to help with promotions.
- I’m starting to look for sponsors who will donate supplies, services, or promotions.
So, if you know anyone at Raymond James Stadium or perhaps someone with the Jets, or maybe you know someone in Sports or someone who might want to sponsor this thing please let me know.
Got something to add? Got a spark of an idea? Let me know.
Any and all ideas will be considered. Just lay it on me and we’ll figure out the best of the best to make it an unforgettable day in Tampa for our Jets and the Fan Club
Go Jets!

About Festa
My given name may be Steve but my friends have been calling me Festa for the last 30 years. While I really miss going to all the JETS home games and tailgating with a large group of friends, it’s really great being here in Tampa around other JETS fans while we root for our team. When I founded the fan club in October of 2004 I never imagined it would become as massive as it now has with over 600 members from around the world and sister Fan Club Chapters in 4 other Florida cities and growing.
