Hey Jets Fans,
While Sunday September11th, 2011 is the beginning of what is shaping up to be another exciting andfun season for our New York Jets, WE MUST NEVER FORGETthe tragedy that occurred on that day 10 years ago.
I was working inManhattan that fateful day and had to evacuate my offices in Rockefeller Centerand spend the night in the city at a friends house due to the horrific attackson the twin towers.
However, I alsoconsider myself very lucky that day! Although several of my friends worked atthe World Trade Center, they all got out safe and thankfully, no one close tome or my immediate family perished when the towers collapsed.
The same can not besaid for some of you.
This Sunday, thedirectors of the New York Jets Fan Club of Tampa Bay would like to remember thefriends, relatives and other loved ones that lost their lives on 9/11. Ifyou wouldn’t mind sharing with us the name of the person who perished that dayand their relationship to you, we would like to honor them during thegame. Just click here to send us the details.
Our motto since thebeginning has always been “If You’re a Jets Fan, You’re Family!” andon this night of remembrance, we choose to honor those folks in our Jets Familythat are no longer with us. We also intend to set up a special page on ourwebsite dedicated to those men and women and the people they left behind.
All our very best!

About Festa
My given name may be Steve but my friends have been calling me Festa for the last 30 years. While I really miss going to all the JETS home games and tailgating with a large group of friends, it’s really great being here in Tampa around other JETS fans while we root for our team. When I founded the fan club in October of 2004 I never imagined it would become as massive as it now has with over 600 members from around the world and sister Fan Club Chapters in 4 other Florida cities and growing.
