Hey Jets Fans... are you ready for some JETS FOOTBALL!!! I know I sure am.
It's been a long off-season with some big moves on the Jets including a new Head Coach and a new rookie Quarterback in Mark Sanchez. I can't wait to get back to Peabody's and see everyone again. I know we're in for a great season.
This newsletter is a long time coming and I've got a lot to cover here so please take a few minutes to read through everything. I'll probably also be resending chunks of the newsletter during the next couple of weeks.

Jets vs Texans - Opening Day at Peabody's
Opening Day has finally arrived and everyone is excited about getting together at Peabody's to celebrate our JETS. New Coach, new QB, new attitude!!! The game starts at 1pm but you might want to get to P's early to save your spot. We are expecting a huge crowd from all over the Bay area.
We will also be welcoming Super Bowl III Champ Early "The Twirl" Christy and his Radio show partner "Don't Do It" Dave Constable. Earl and Dave plan on being at every game this year and will have some special guest joining them occasionally as they are also doing a talk-radio show on 1040am ESPN Radio. More details about that below.
Peabody's should have the regular drink and food specials for us.
See you at P's on Sunday.

Still need tickets to Jets / Bucs game?
If you are still in need of tickets you can download and fill out the the form located at http://www.Jets-Fan.com/2009 Group Order Form.pdf and fax it back to my contact at the Bucs as she can’t take any payment info over the phone.
Be sure to mention on the form that you want the seats to be with the New York Jets Fan Club of Tampa Bay. She was holding seats but had to release them. She can still fill orders as long as they have seats open. The sooner you get your order in the better. Just write in how many you want…they are $75 a piece.
Here's her contact info.

Web Site Updates
So I spent most of my Labor Day laboring away on the Fan Club website. I've fixed the forums, dropped the Favre stuff, added links to Sanchez and other Jets merchandise, added links to purchase Fan Club Gear (look at the top left), and added links to the various Social Media sites that we are on including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Blogger.
Look for the Social Media sites on the left above the rotating next opponent helmet.

Official Club Membership and Discount Cards
General membership to the fan club has been and always will be completely free.
However to help raise money for the club and to help our members get discounts at local businesses like Peabody's, we are starting up a paid Fan Club Membership Card.
Showing your membership card at Club sponsors businesses will get you discounts, freebies, buy one - get ones and more. Each establishment will have it's own discounts and all will be listed on the Fan Clubs website.
Here's a sample of what this Credit Card sized membership card will look like.

We are pricing the card at $25 dollars each. That covers the cost of the card and the marketing we've been doing to solicit businesses. If you all you do is come to Peabody's 4 or 5 times in the year it should pay for itself very quickly.

Jets / Bucs Tailgate Party Weekend
I know every Jets fan in the area is excited about the Jets playing here in Tampa this year. But it's not just us. We have four other fan clubs planning a trip to Tampa to join us for the weekends festivities.
Fan Clubs from Virgina, Atlanta, South Florida, and Port Orange have all contacted me and want to hook up with us for the game and the weekends activities.
We're planning a Happy Hour at Peabody's on Friday 12/11/09 for the members of all the clubs to get together and get to know one another.
On Saturday 12/12/09, we are trying to put together some kind of Meet-and-Greet with Jets Players. Hopefully at their hotel or by the practice field. Still working on that and would love it if anyone had any contacts inside the Jets.
Of course on Sunday 12/13/09 we are planning a huge tailgate party. We are still working on the details including a location but if anyone has any ideas for the tailgate (or the weekend) please let me know.
In addition, we are also looking for sponsors who might be willing to donate supplies, services, food, drinks, a location, or other items to the tailgate event.
Got something to add? Got a spark of an idea? Let me know.
Any and all ideas will be considered. Just lay it on me and we'll figure out the best of the best to make it an unforgettable day in Tampa for our Jets and the Fan Club
If you are interested or know someone who is, please contact me ASAP at Festa@Jets-Fan.com or 813-235-6855.

Fan Club nearing 250 registered members
As of the writing of this email, fan club registrations are at 246. To think we started this thing in 2004 with 17 members and had only 30 as of September 2006 this is remarkable. I'm sure we're going to hit the 300 mark before the end of the season and I want to thank all of you for your ongoing support.
Remember to spread the word folks and be sure to send friends and family to http://www.jets-fan.com/join.htm in order for them to register to receive all the emails and such.

Vinny Testaverde
We are still trying to get Vinny Testaverde to drop by the fan club this year. If you didn't know, Vinny makes his home here in the Tampa area.
We've already had a little birdie whisper in his ear about the club and Earl Christy also said he'd try reaching out to him.
If you have a direct line to Vinny, please let me know.
